Bengal cats are treasured for a number of characteristics, both physical and behavioral; today's purebredBengal kittens have been far removed generationally from their wild ancestors, but the distinct beauty of their Asian leopard ancestors lives on.  A larger breed of cat, the average Bengal female weighs between 10 and 12 pounds, with slightly larger males typically falling in the range of 15 to 20 pounds.Temperamentally speaking, pure bred Bengal cats prove to be loving, affectionate, playful, highly intelligent cats with a loyalty that is uncharacteristic of cats in general.  The combination of exotic, wild beauty and tame, loving demeanor is what draws so many to these lifelong companions.
