In April last year my beautiful male cat Ninja
started to behave as if he was feeling out of sorts. He developed a
fever, which spiked very sharply and suddenly. He became extremely
lethargic.
We sought help from a veterinarian in a nearby city.
Ninja was diagnosed with feline AIDS, and a systemic infection from a
tick bite. He was a very sick kitty. The vet did not think he would
make it, because the feline AIDS disease ruins the immune system, just
as AIDS does in humans. The Dr. began aggressive antibiotic therapy,
and intra venous hydration to bring down the cats fever and prevent
further dehydration. Something else very unusual for a cat began to
appear, polyarthritic joints over his entire body. Ninja could barely
move and when he did move, he would cry in pain.
When the fever
decreased and the fluids replenished, he was sent home with a referral
to Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Fort
Collins, Colorado, 130 miles from our home. I did not think that Ninja
would survive the car trip.
The doctors at CSU gave him new
antibiotics, many tests and steroids, all in the hope of relieving his
symptoms of feline AIDS. Three weeks later, we had completed the best
course of treatments that veterinary medicine had to offer. There was
no improvement.
I decided to do something drastic for my beloved
cat. I started forcing him to swallow a capsule, 500 milligrams of
Apple Poly twice a day. Apple Poly has shown some remarkable results in
laboratory animal studies, and I had no hope with any of the animal
doctors. It seems that feline aids is a death sentence for your cat.
Ninja had been so sick that he had dropped from a 14 pound cat to a 7
pound cat. 500 milligrams twice a day for an animal so frail is a huge
dose. I wondered if the Apple Poly would help or harm, I didn't know.
At
first, nothing happened. He seemed to be in the same condition, I was
still force-feeding him with an eyedropper just to keep him alive. I
was relieved to see that he had no apparent adverse reaction to the
Apple Poly capsules, so I continued to administer the nutritional
antioxidant for the next three weeks.
After 21 days of
supplementing with Apple Poly only, he suddenly seemed more alive. His
eyes brightened, and he could stand up without mewing in pain. After 35
to 40 days of the supplement, his appetite grew, he began to put on
some of the weight he had lost, and his joint pain was gone. All
symptoms of the feline AIDS disease are gone.
I continue to
supplement his diet with the Apple Poly, however the dose is much
smaller, half a capsule, or 250 milligrams a day, mixed in his food.
(He got so strong that I could not force him to swallow a capsule, fur
would fly and claws would flash)
He continues to put on new
muscle. At his worst he looked like a black bath mat with eyes, he now
behaves badly, as all of my black cats do. He feels certain urges and
he will not be denied. Scratching on the furniture and trying to make
kittens with the neighborhood females is his exercise. We are so happy
to have our cat back in the "Land of the living", even if he does a
"Bad Kitty " thing now and then.
