Siamese Cat

If you are fond of cats, especially the oriental cats, there is a great possibility that you already have a Siamese cat in your house as one of your pets. It happens to be one of the breeds of oriental cats that are among the first ones to be distinctly recognized. The exact origins of these cats are still unknown. It is, however, believed to be originated in the southeastern parts of Asia. These cats are also believed to be the descendents from the Siam cats that were, again, thought to be sacred temple cats. The Siamese cats often flaunt a creamy base coat. You may also observe colored points on their paws, ears, snouts, lower legs and even on tails. It has been seen that the coolest portions of the body of these cats are of comparatively darker color. These points become distinct after the kitten comes to be four weeks old.

The Siamese cats are characterized by their playful nature and their fondness for human companionship. They like playing with toys. Similarly they enjoy their naps in the laps of their masters or mistresses. These cats are friendly and also very inquisitive. There is no better enjoyment for them if they can go and sit on the page that you were reading. Their movements and face makings make their conversing and affectionate attitude quite obvious.

These cats have also been found to be friendly with the other pets and with the children. The Siamese cats are of a mellow temperament. These lap cats are very good and obedient to the seniors. They are also very intelligent. Most of the cats of this breed are very obedient while some of them are extremely mischievous. If you forbid them to do anything, they will, in most of the cases, abstain from doing that. Some cats, of course, will wait till you are out, and then, do it any way. 

The Siamese cats are not known for making noise while they are reputed for the loud voice they have. They do not make noise until they are in a tormented situation. If they are pained in any way, they are loud enough. You may find the person at the other end of the telephone asking you if your baby is crying when it is your Siamese cat that is making the crying sound at that time.

The Siamese cats have no bad habit to speak of, except that they are extremely fond of higher places. Otherwise they do not even love to scratch the furniture. They are not at all outdoor cats. If it happens that you do not find your cat, and you think that it has gone outdoors, look up at the higher places or corners in your house. You will find them there. Keep in mind that the Siamese cats are generally healthy and have good appetites. If you have one of them, supply it with high quality dry food.
