Singapura

If you are fond of cats, and if you have no problem in having a pet cat in your house, you can have a Singapura cat in your house. There are very few breeds of cats that are so elegant and dainty. They look so beautiful that most people have been drawn to them. Singapura happens to be one of the smallest breeds of cats. These cats are often referred to as the drain cats that were imported from Singapore in the seventies.

The body of the Singapura cats is strong and muscular. The head is of a round shape. It has big eyes and ears. The tails of these cats are comparatively shorter in relation to the body of the cats. They have closely lying ticked coat. There are Singapura cats of various colors with the ground color as the base color.       

The Singapura cats are of a very delightful disposition. They are affectionately aggressive while they are also shy at times. They are curious by nature. Though they like to poke their nose into everything they are rather uneasy and shy with the unknown things. At the same time they do not keep anything or anyone stranger to themselves. They get closer to the new thing or the person. They are also very friendly. It takes them very little time to become friendly with the person or the thing, overcoming their initial shyness. When they grow up, they are playful enough and they do not any more cling to the shyness to see anything new, though they feel equally curious to find something new or something with which they are unfamiliar.

The male cats of the Singapura breed are of a bit easy-going nature. They seem to care little about things happening around him. On the other hand, the female cats are comparatively more dominant by nature. The female cats of this breed are also wonderful as mothers. The litter consists of two to four kittens. They take much care of their kittens, comprehending as well as apprehending almost perfectly who can cause harm to their kittens and who are harmless to them.

There is one very important thing about the Singapura cats, which you must keep in mind if you have one of these cats in your house. It is true that these cats are very playful and very quiet. It has also to be kept in mind that they are very fond of human companionship. They are the best for a big family. Even if all of the family members are going out at the same time, do make sure that there is at least one of the family members who would stay at home in order that the cat does not feel companionless.

The Singapura cats have normal food habits like most of the other pet cats. They neither have the habit of roaming around outdoors nor do they go out of the house. They tend to go outside the house only when they feel neglected. They can also go outside the household if they feel lonely.
